The V8 Roadsters LSX Subframe Kit is for installation of the
GM generation III and IV SBC into the NA and NB Miata.



LSX Mounting Kit
$1,950

The LSx mounting kit is the product of over three years of design and development. Starting with CAD profiling and continuing developed from road and track testing. The combination of multiple tubing forms and triangulated design yields the strongest and lightest mounting kit available, period. Retaining the factory suspension and steering rack location ensures this. Our design couples all aspects in one and offers the best performance and balance to retain the MX5’s outstanding sports car handling. The LSx mounting kit offers you the availability of drive line placement. Click here for placement options. The newly redesigned transmission mount provides greater ground clearance and provisions for routing 3” exhaust through the cross member. The combination frame stiffeners and the transmission mount increase torsional rigidity by tying the uni-body together.

Kit includes:
• Light weight tubular subframe with choice of drive in placement for LSx engines (click here for more information on the subframe )

• Light weight engine plates and Energy polyurethane mounts.

• Transmission crossmember with provisions for 3” exhaust routing for T56 transmission and Energy polyurethane mount.

• Frame stiffeners for added torsional strength and uni-body bracing.

• Necessary hardware to install grade 8 or better zinc finished.

• Black semi gloss powder coat. Special order red powder coating. Add $35.



Axle combinations for LSx and MX5 drive lines

Carrier and axle combinations for LSx and MX5 drive lines
Axle combinations are built from all new parts, no remanufactured or machined original parts are used. The components in each kit are designed to work together under their stated application.

Getrag axle combinations:

The Getrag carrier is widely used in many GMTM vehicles with a broad range of power outputs and applications. Its light weight cast aluminum design is offered with a limited slip differential and an assortment of ratios. The size of the carrier offers exhaust clearance for dual 3” and optimizes ground clearance.

Our unique design utilizes the factory hangers to support the carrier and custom front mount to eliminate twist and flex without relying on the subframe brace mounting points. This design allows the use of the factory and after market braces and subframe connector. We utilize Getrag in our road course and street cars. When sourcing the Getrag look for the 2008 and later models for the latest casting and seal updates.

Option 2 - Full component upgrade:

• 32 spline axles with high output inner and outer CVs rated at 550 lbs feet of torque

• New high horse power designed hubs

• 3 inch DOM steel drive shaft with 1310 cytogenetic treated series joint and yoke



Option 3 - Maximum performance components:

• 36 spline increased diameter axles with chrome moly high output ball and cage inner CVs rated at 650 lbs feet of torque

• New high horse power designed hubs

• Quality wheel bearings

• CNC aluminum drive shaft adapter with grade 8 hardware

• 3 inch DOM steel drive shaft with 1350 cytogenetic treated series joint and yoke

All options are available with aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft upgrades and 1350 series joints.



Ford 8.8TM Axle Combinations: Available Mid February 2009

The Ford 8.8 is tried and true, used in many kit cars and custom builds. It is known for taking abuse at the drag strip and hard launches. The mounting kit harnesses the 8.8 from the ‘89 – ’97 T-Bird and ’93 – ’97 Mark VIII. The carrier is offered in both steel and aluminum and has a wide variety of ratios and positive traction differentials. The 8.8 is bulker and heavier than the Getrag and is preferred for drag strip use.

The mount design is a TIG and MIG welded construction to provide superior strength and light weight for maximum performance and retains the factory scrub line while offering enough area for routing up to 2 ¾ dual exhaust. Our unique design utilizes the factory hangers to support the carrier from above and custom front mount to eliminate twist and flex without relying on the subframe brace mounting points. In mounting the carrier this way allows the use of the factory and after market braces and subframe connector.

Option 1- Daily driver and mild strip use components:

Kit includes:
• 32 spline chrome moly axles with high output forged ford inner CVs distressed and tempered. Chrome moly outer CVs for 28 spline differential rated at 400 lbs feet of torque

• New high horse power hubs

• Energy bushings for differential

• New quality wheel bearings

• ARP long studs

• 3 inch DOM steel drive shaft with 1310 cytogenetic treated series joints

• 8.8 mount with poly urethane bushings and grade 8 hardware for installation


Option 2 – All out performance

Kit includes:
• 36 spline larger diameter chrome moly axles with chrome moly high output CVs for 28 spline differential rated at 650 lbs feet of torque

• New high horse power hubs

• Energy bushings for differential

• New quality wheel bearings

• ARP long studs

• 3 inch DOM steel drive shaft with 1330 cytogenetic treated series joint and yoke

• 8.8 mount with poly urethane bushings and grade 8 or better hardware

All options are available with aluminum or carbon fiber driveshaft upgrades and 1350 series joints.




LSX Clutch Kit - The key to a great shifting transmission
$205

The T56 is equipped with a hydraulic release bearing. Matching the master cylinder to the release bearing and proper bleeding is key for a great shifting transmission. The LSX Clutch Kit uses the correct bore and stroke Wildwood combination master cylinder to achieve this and offer placement option for the reservoir. The user can adjust throw and pedal height to their liking. The kits contains two steel braid lines for the supply and bleed sides of the release bearing to insure proper bleeding and ease of service.

Kit includes:
• Wilwood combination master cylinder with choice of reservoir location and optimal pedal adjustment

• Steel braid supply and bleed lines for proper bleeding and service

• T56 release bearing fitting to adapt steel braid lines

• Custom adapter for Wilwood master cylinder to MX5

• Heavy duty clevis to work with factory pedal and clutch pedal starter interlock.

MX5 Tubular Subframe

The MX5 tubular subframe provides a 10 pound saving over the factory subframe. The MX5 tubular subframe improved rigidity along with updated suspension point and improves steering feedback. Increased engine bay room allows forced induction cars move option for routing. Available with NA or NB steering rack mounts. Comes with rack mount shims to adjust bump steer on lowered cars.
